Fuel Fee Refund

  1. After completing changes of vehicle registration like the registration as non-operational, with its license plate turned in or license cancelled, refund application can be submitted at the same time if it is verified that there is an overpayment on motor vehicle fuel tax. You can either collect the refund voucher or request to refund it directly to your personal bank account.
  2. For those who fail to apply for fuel tax overpayment refund when dealing with changes of vehicle registration, Motor Vehicles Office will carry out batch pick-up operation regularly and post out refund vouchers initiatively.
  3. In case of duplicated payment on motor vehicle fuel tax, the owner of the vehicle can submit refund application to Motor Vehicles Office. Besides, Motor Vehicles Office will also carry out batch pick-up operation regularly and post out duplicated payment notice or refund voucher directly.
  4. For those who receive the refund voucher, please deposit it to the personal bank account for cash exchange. It is nonnegotiable.
  5. Redeeming period of the refund voucher is within three months after issuing date. If it is overdue, please contact Motor Vehicles Office for follow-up.
