Applicants must be between 30 and 65 years old. However, those aged 60 and above must undergo a physical examination at a public hospital once a year. If qualified, they must provide the medical certificate and apply to the local road administration authority for one year driver’s license valid for one year, within one month before the expiration of their current license.
Applicants must have continuously held a valid operating taxi driver's professional registration certificate for at least 6 years. However, if the applicant has had their certificate reissued or replaced under the regulations of the taxi Professional Registration Management Rules" (Article 2), the period of interruption will be deducted.
Applicants must not have committed any violations listed under Article 61, Section 3; Article 63, Section 1; or Article 68, Section 2 of the Road Traffic Management and penalty Act in the past 3 years.
Applicants must not have had their driver’s license suspended in the last 5 years according to the Road Traffic Management and penalty Act. However, taxi drivers who have been awarded under the "Promotion of Road Traffic Safety Reward Program" or hold a disability manual are exempt from the age and professional registration certificate experience requirements.
