Traffic Control of Provincial Highway No. 11 on March 9, 2024, for Hualien Pacific Wave Marathon

On March 9 (Saturday) from 4:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., the Hualien County Athletics Federation will be hosting the 2024 Hualien Pacific Wave Marathon. Sections of Provincial Highway No. 11 from 9k+152 to 19k will be subject to traffic control during this period to accommodate the event. On the stretch from the East Coast Visitor Center (9k) to Henan Temple (12k), the northbound lane will be closed, and the southbound lane will be converted to allow two-way traffic. On the stretch from Henan Temple (12k) to the north end of the Tiao-lung Tunnel (19k), the northbound lane will be closed, and the southbound lane will accommodate single-lane two-way traffic.

The Highway Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) urges event participants to comply with event regulations, be mindful of traffic safety, and respect the environment along the route. Additionally, the event organizer has been instructed to deploy additional personnel along the route during the event to guide people within the event area for safety purposes.

Furthermore, construction is currently underway on the Hualien Bridge of Provincial Highway No. 11. To ensure smooth traffic flow and safety during the event, the Highway Bureau urges motorists to obey speed limits and drive carefully on alternate routes. Before traveling, please pay attention to weather forecasts as well as road traffic information and plan your journey in advance.
