As the Tomb-Sweeping Festival holiday approaches, the Highway Bureau, MOTC, has planned relevant clearing measures to cope with the large crowds and traffic demands during the holiday period. The aim is to ensure smooth traffic flow on roads and assist the public in safely returning home.
Regarding public transportation benefits, during the Tomb-Sweeping Festival holiday, there will be discounts for national highway passenger transportation fares and transfer benefits. From April 3rd to 7th, Year 2024, passengers taking designated national highway passenger routes can enjoy discounted fares or an 15% off discount on regular fares. Additionally, passengers using the same electronic ticket card for Taiwan Railways, High-Speed Rail, and national highway passenger transportation can enjoy a free ride or basic mileage within 10 hours when transferring to local urban or highway passenger routes.
In terms of station and attraction traffic management, the Hsinchu Motor Vehicles Office will monitor major transportation hubs and the surrounding traffic conditions of tourist attractions. Apart from deploying additional manpower to strengthen traffic patrols and management at stations and tourist hotspots, it will establish horizontal communication channels with relevant units to address potential traffic congestion or emergencies, ensuring smooth traffic flow on roads.
To avoid traffic congestion and ensure driving safety, the Hsinchu District Supervisory Office encourages everyone to use public transportation for outings or returning home. They can also check bus routes for highway passenger transportation and urban buses through the "iBus " app. For those who need to drive or ride, please pay attention to road conditions, conduct vehicle checks, abide by traffic rules, avoid driving when fatigued, and collectively create a safe and orderly traffic environment, enjoying a safe and joyful Tomb-Sweeping Festival!
