To foster proper motorcycle riding habits and reinforce defensive driving concepts among the public, the government encourages individuals to participate in motorcycle driving training before obtaining a driver's license. From now until November 30, 2024, individuals who register for and successfully complete a government-approved motorcycle training class to obtain a driver's license will receive a subsidy of NT$1,300 per person for training fees. There are 40,000 subsidy spots available for 2024!
As per statistics from the Highway Bureau, MOTC, individuals who have completed driving training and obtained a license have experienced a 56% reduction in the risk of violations and a 35% reduction in the risk of accidents. This indicates that the 6 hours of theoretical training and 10 hours of practical training provided in the driving course enable novice drivers to better perceive potential dangers on the road. Consequently, they establish concepts of safe riding and defensive driving, leading to a reduction in the occurrence of accidents.
