At around 5 pm on January 15, 2024, a traffic accident occurred on the Pingzhen section of Taiwan 66 Line Fast Highway (westbound), in which a large business truck struck and hit the vehicle in front of it. This incident caused damage to 1 large truck and 5 cars, 4 people were injured and 1 died. After receiving the notification, our Zhongli district maintenance office and the Police Department of Taoyuan City rushed to the scene to handle the incident.        We once again appeals to drivers of large vehicles to perform regular and frequent inspections and maintenance of vehicle machinery, and to be energetic before going out. Please slow down moderately when driving, pay attention to the situation in front of the car at all times and avoid dangerous behaviors such as distracted or fatigued driving, speeding violations, etc. If you cause injury to unspecific road users or damage to highway facilities, you will also face relevant claims and legal responsibilities.
