In order to provide a safe travel environment for the public, Pingtung Bus Company organized an " Fire and Emergency Training and Education" course on November 3rd. The Pingtung Station of Kaohsiung Motor Vehicles Office, participated and conducted regulatory outreach.
The Pingtung Station indicated that large vehicles have more blind spots, and accidents involving pedestrians often occur at intersections due to factors such as blind spots and differential rotation of the inner wheels. Therefore, all professional drivers are reminded to reduce their speed when approaching intersections, pause and perform confirmation actions before making turns. Pingtung Station also reminded drivers to yield to pedestrians when approaching pedestrian crosswalks or other intersections designated for pedestrian crossing to prevent traffic accidents. Failure to do so may result in fines, demerit points, and mandatory road traffic safety education.
The course also invited Instructor Guo from the Pingtung County Fire Department to explain the in-vehicle firefighting, evacuation, and escape procedures. And he reminded the drivers to regularly check whether the fire extinguisher is functional and ensure that the safety doors can be opened.
Safety is the only way home, and the safety awareness and response capabilities of bus drivers are critical factors in ensuring the safety of passengers. Through this training, we hope to further enhance passenger safety and create a higher-quality travel environment in Pingtung County.
