In order to encourage novice drivers of light vehicles to strengthen their driving skills and knowledge, improve their driving techniques, cultivate correct driving habits, reduce road traffic accidents, and enhance traffic safety, the Kinmen Motor Vehicles Office has been supervising driving schools under its jurisdiction to strengthen their hardware and software facilities and enrich their teaching staff and materials. In August of 2022, the Kinmen driving school successfully applied for the dispatch of examiners for light vehicle driving tests. After completing the lessons, the school’s students can take the driving test at the original site.

Starting from March 2023, the Kinmen Motor Vehicles Office will cancel the regular light vehicle license examination sessions being held on Wednesday mornings. The regular light vehicle license examination schedule has been adjusted to every Monday morning. Citizens who need to apply for the exam are welcome to make reservations on the Motor Vehicle Driver Information Service website (https://www.mvdis.gov.tw/m3-emv-trn/exm/locations) and report to the registration counter on the 9th and 10th  before 8:50 am every Monday morning. Latecomers will not be accepted.

The Kinmen Motor Vehicles Office will also continue to support the government's policy of encouraging motorcycle drivers to participate in driving lessons and assist driving schools in opening motorcycle driving courses to provide a more complete driving training environment. The aim is to cultivate motorcycle drivers to obey traffic rules and have safe driving habits, develop defensive driving and responsibility, and reduce the accident rate. According to statistics from the "Road Safety Information Query Network," from January to November 2022, the number of motorcycle accidents in Kinmen County was 927, accounting for 74.9% of all accident casualties, an increase of 123 (15.3%) from the same period in 2011. Motorcycle riders are reminded to slow down and yield to traffic when passing through intersections and to ensure safe driving.
