| Content | “Micro electric scooter” will be issued with license plate and included for management formally starting from November 30; however, to consider the present vehicle situation of the public and the difficulty of acquiring related certificates, Fongyuan Motor Vehicles Station has cooperated with tens of distributors of micro electric scooter in district under its jurisdiction to provide considerate to-the-point service; therefore, the vehicle owner only has to contact the original distributor selling the vehicle or get to the “micro electric scooter area” of motor vehicle service network to search the nearest distributor list of micro electric scooter, then the distributor can check and repair the micro electric scooter and help the vehicle owner to acquire plant-outgoing certificate; if the registered vehicle count is over 30, Fongyuan Motor Vehicles Station will send personnel to the distributor’s site on the assigned date to finish real vehicle checking and license plate receiving operation in one time.
The chief of Fongyuan Motor Vehicles Station, Chien-Hsing Huang, said that when the owner of micro electric scooter is about to receive the license plate, the owner needs to have the following items ready, namely, original national ID card and seal of the vehicle owner, the plant-outgoing certificate and invoice for the purchasing (an affidavit letter can be made if the invoice is lost) of the vehicle, compulsory vehicle liability insurance card with validation period of more than 30 days and processing fee of 450 NT dollars; after real vehicle checking is finished, the license plate can then be formally received and vehicle can get to the road. To encourage micro electric scooter that is currently in use to have a license plate and be included for management, starting from November 30 and until the end of 2023, the 450 NTDs fee for license plate and vehicle registration will be free!
Fongyuan Motor Vehicles Station would like the remind the public that if you are over 14 years old, you don’t have to hold a driver license to be able to ride micro electric scooter legally; people who ride the electric scooter with speed per hour over 25 kilometers, the driver will be fined with a maximum of 1,800 NT dollars. The compulsory insurance for each license plate of micro electric scooter can guarantee the right of the road users, and it is also a safe way for the scooter owner to get to the road.
