Unnecessary movements are not suggested on Dragon Boat Festival holidays due to the epidemic warning level 3.

ContentThe 2021 Dragon Boat Festival holidays are about to start, occurring over a three-day period from Saturday, June 12th to Monday, June 14th. In response to the COVID-19 epidemic warning level 3 nationwide to June 14th, the dragon boat competitions and big events will be cancelled or extended, the scenic and amusement areas are closed. The Directorate General of Highways expects the main travel purpose during the festival will be back to hometowns and the percentage of self-driving will increase. People are suggested to reduce unnecessary travels and travel on off-peak time. The original promotions for public transports on holidays will be not applicable during Dragon Boat Festival holidays. The vehicles and stations for buses have implemented “contact-information registration by messages” to target accurately, controlling the footprints of confirmed cases and people who have come into contact with them.
For Provincial Highways, the DGH estimates the traffic will reduce 20%~40% on the Dragon Boat Festival holidays due to the epidemic warning level 3 nationwide, there will be no congested roads. People are suggested to follow the epidemic prevention measures of level 3 and reduce unnecessary movements. The national scenic areas and amusement parks are closed and go sightseeing are not advised.
For public transport, the DGH follows the suggestion of reduce movements by the CECC and have cancelled the following promotions:
1.Weekdays fare or 15% discount for 90 National Freeway Routes.
2.Half price for 44 Taiwan Tourist Shuttle routes by using E-tickets.
3.Free one zone fare or free basic mile fare of local buses for transfer from National Freeway Routes, TRA and HSR in 10 hours.
4.The personal discounted fare of NT$400 for the return trips of Taipei – Hualien National Freeway Routes.
5.Buy three get one free and NT$200 discounts on return trip for Taipei – Hualien and Taipei – Yilan National Freeway Routes and buy the package tickets of Taiwan Tourist Shuttle routes or stay in legal accommodations in Eastern Taiwan.
6.The discounted car rental fares for assigned companies in Eastern Taiwan by showing the tickets of National Freeway buses. As well as the NT$200(car rental) or NT$100(scooter rental) discount on the return bus ticket is also available by showing certificates of the same bus operator and car rental companies.
For passengers who need to travel by buses, the DGH has supervised bus operators enhancing the epidemic prevention measures. The key areas including stations, waiting areas and facilities with frequent touches, will heighten disinfection every hour. Vehicles are also heightened disinfection before leaving, after ending and each runs, sanitizers are available on vehicles to protect the health of passengers and staffs. Passengers should take temperatures, wear masks all the time and keep social distancing, register contact-information (by scanning QR code or filling the form) while entering stations and on broad. Consumption of food and beverages is prohibited in the stations and vehicles, except for physical needs such as drinking water, taking medicine and breastfeeding and should wear masks immediately after finish. Passengers are suggested for self-protecting to reduce risks of transmission.
