At 19:40 pm, December 18, 2022 it was reported that at the 19.9K spot of the Taiwan Line 66 (Lane 986, Section 2, Pingzhen Expressway, Taoyuan), a blue car turned left at the intersection and directly collided with a motorcyclist who was going straight. According to the report, "Although the red light and road signs are very clear, accidents happen frequently because of the width of the separated island, the sharing of motorcycles and car lanes, and the fact that there are traffic lights in the opposite direction..." Our Zhongli district maintenance office of the General Administration of Highways will invite the Transportation Bureau of Taoyuan City Government and the authorities concerned to conduct on-site surveys to clarify issues about signals, timing…etc. in order to prevent accidents from happening again.
We hereby remind the citizens who use the roads to give way to vehicles in accordance with regulations when passing through intersections to avoid accidents and casualties. Please listen to the radio at any time to get the latest driving information and pay attention to the traffic control information released by the Changeable Message Signboard (CMS).
