| Provincial Highway LED Traffic Light Replacement Situation |
| According to official document #0960033852 of Executive Yuan(臺經字第0960033852號函), MOTC (Ministry of transportation and communication) should budgeting for the highway maintenance and its related expense. Within three years (2008-2010), MOTC should replace the provincial highway traffic lights preferentially into LED light. After a series of planning of MOTC, DGH (Directorate general of Highway) will distribute 3 years of budget for the traffic light replacement project. After the calculation, there are 92,000 sets of traffic lights need to be replaced on provincial highways. The expected expense is 500 million. The expense will be supported by the highway maintenance budget from DGH. Due to the traffic enhancement program, DGH will advance the schedule date 1 year earlier, and strive for the budget, 270 million, from central government in 2008, and speed up the project. |
| Regarding the LED light replacement project, the mainly replacement will be conduct by local government except the area juristic by the Second Maintenance Office. |
| The current schedules are as follow： |

12,000 sets of traffic light have been replaced with LED light by 2008. From 2008 to 2010, April, 76,245 sets of traffic light have been replaced successfully. The final stage is expected to be finished before 2010, June. |
