The main responsibility of the Directorate General of Highways is to manage and provide the service for the three transportation element, people, vehicle, and roadways. Within the responsibility, we focus on the construction and maintenance for roadways and bridges in order to provide the convenience for the public. On the other hand, we also provide motor vehicle administration to ensure the traffic safety for the public. | The major works of The Directorate General of Highways(DHG) can be divided into two major category, “highway engineering” and “motor vehicle administration” |
| ‧ Highway engineering |
| The department is mainly responsible for maintaining, developing and organizing new highway constructions, and substitution maintenance for county roads etc. The Directorate General of Highways (DHG) maintains over 7,000 kilometers of highways, over 4,000 bridges and 200 tunnels. |

| ‧ Motor Vehicle administration |
| The department is mainly in charge of the management and supervision of motor vehicles, drivers, transportation industry of motor vehicle, violation against regulations of road transportation, tax collection, training courses for technicians, development and management of driving school, and highways transportation. |
